Premier Cage Fighting presents "Total Warrior Challenge 6" is now in the books.  The event took place at the Toyota Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Indianapolis State Fair Grounds.  A total of nineteen fights took place with nine amateur bouts and ten professional fights.  Read on for the full results and recap.

The first scheduled amateur fight was supposed to see Jake Nealy take on Brandon Gum.  The fight didn't happen because Gum no showed and it was claimed that he "didn't have a ride to the venue".  An unfortunate outcome for Nealy who was game to fight.

The first actual fight of the night featured Larry Pavey taking on Duane Gray II.  Both fighters came out with big body kicks and repeated the action.  Pavey then landed a big right hand that could be heard through out the venue.  Gray tried to close the distance but Pavey jumped up and grabbed a guillotine choke.  After pulling guard, the choke was sunk in and Gray was forced to tap.

The first fight to go the distance saw a catweight bout of 150lbs between Mathew Perry and Andrew Kepchar.  Kepchar dominated all three rounds with superiors wrestling and massive strikes.  In the second round Kepchar was deducted a point for using 12-6 elbows to Perry's thighs.  The deduction didn't matter as the third round was still much of the same as Kepchar landed multiple strikes and was close to finishing the fight.  In the end, all three judges scored the fight for Kepchar 29-27.

Some big shots were thrown by both Gary Riggs and Ethan Cronk.  In the first round Cronk landed a successful combo that dropped Riggs quickly, but Riggs popped back up.  Riggs then would push out of Cronk's mount and controlled the rest of the round.  The second round Cronk landed a massive takedown and landed in side control.  From there he quickly moved to mount and worked for a kimura, and forced Riggs to give up his back.  Once flattened out, Cronk had both hooks in and sunk in the fight ending rear naked choke.

The next fight saw a bit of a controversy between Jesse Parsley and Brandon Hockman.  The first round saw Parsley control most of the action with crisp strikes and takedowns.  Hockman was able to land a big upkick near the end of the round, but Parsley wasn't that phased.  With ten seconds left Parsley unloaded a massive six punch combo and finished it up with a standing guillotine choke.  The bell rang saving Hockman.  The second round Parsley shot for the takedown, but Hockman was defending well.  Hockman postured to throw elbows and the ref started to warn him about the elbow.  Hockman went to plead his elbow strikes weren't 12-6 elbows and Parsley took advantage landing a big punch and followed it up with eight knees.  A quick pause followed by two more knees that opened Hockman up was how the fight ended.

The fans were clamoring for a knockout and they almost got it.  Jeremy Baughman dropped Jason Clouse with some massive uppercuts from within the clinch.  Baughman followed it up and landed powerful shots from within side control.  Clouse fettled up and Baughman took his back and rained down bomb after bomb forcing the ref to halt the action.  After the ref stopped the fight, the doctor was called in to check up on Clouse who would be able to walk out on his own.

In what had to be the amateur fight of the night, Abe Garcia and Jesse Turner put on a three-round slug fest.  In the first round Garcia was able to score takedowns at will but couldn't capitalize on it as Turner would get right back up.  The second round Turner was the more visibly tired fighter and Garcia started to work a sharp boxing game as he was able to pick apart Turner.  The final round both fighters were exhausted, but both swung for the fences.  Garcia would be the more accurate of the two landing multiple counters to Turner's strikes.  In the end, all three judges scored the fight for Garcia.

The next fight went the distance and like the previous it was dominated by one fighter.  Bryant Whitaker controlled the action from the opening bell to the finish.  Bobby Thilman had no answer for Whitaker's take downs.  To Thilman's credit, he defended against the multiple submission that Whitaker attempted and was never in any danger.  Despite getting mount throughout out the fight, Whitaker couldn't finish and had to settle for the judges' decision.

The amateur main event saw Casey Claybourn taking on Robert Arnett in a heavyweight contest.  The first round saw both heavyweights trying to show who had the more power with their punches.  After a brief exchange, they clinched and Arnett was able to get Claybourn's back.  Arnett didn't do anything with it and they stood and exchanged.  Claybourn was able to land a big knee and several punches which probably earned him the round.  The second round turned more into a wrestling match and Arnett was the better wrestler.  After a takedown, Arnett was able to get the back and landed multiple shots.  Arnett left too much room open and Claybourn was able to stand.  Arnett responded with a takedown and finished the round on Claybourn's back working multiple punches.  The doctor steps in to check out Claybourn and he limps out of the cage as Arnett is declared the winner.

After a brief intermission, the professional fights started.  Opening the pro bouts was Casey Dyer taking on Matt Singleton.  Singleton opened the fight with a high kick but Dyer just smiled it off.  Singleton quickly shot to the takedown and was successful with a big slam.  Unfortunately for Singleton, Dyer had fantastic wrist control and an even better rubber guard.  After the ref warned to improve position, Dyer was able to quickly pull guard and transition to a triangle choke.  Singleton tried to fight his way out and even rolled so the triangle would be a top mount choke, but Dyer just threw strikes down at the defenseless Singleton until the ref halted the action.

Ryan Mcintosh took on Toney Alvey in the next bout.  Mcintosh went for a high kick to start the fight, but Alvey just rushed and clinched.  Mcintosh was able to counter with a takedown.  Alvey stood up but ate a big knee, followed by a high kick and a one-two combo.  Mcintosh then took the fight to the ground with a slick judo throw.  After getting Alvey's back and not being able to secure a submission, he stood up and let Alvey get up.  Mcintosh feeling his range, landed a right high kick that sent Alvey to the canvas.  Mcintosh followed it up with a single punch and the ref stopped the action.

If you blinked you could have missed the fight between Chris Johnson and Andrew Zook.  After a touch of gloves, both fighters went for body kicks.  Johnson caught Zook's and took the fight to the ground, but while being taken down, Zook locked in an armbar.  Johnson quickly tapped and he was wincing with pain in his right arm.

If there was an award for the bloodiest fight it would have to be given to Rob Mcintyre and Bryan Neville.  In the first round Mcintyre was able to take Neville to the ground, but Neville would work elbows much like Kenny Florian and opened up a cut on the top of Mcintyre's head.  After an illegal upkick by Neville the action was halted and the doctor was brought in to check the cut.  He gave the all clear and the action continued.  Mcintyre was able to get mount and worked some serious shots as the round ended.  In the second round Mcintyre again took the fight to the ground and ate some elbows.  But Neville would tire and Mcintyre would again get the mount.  Once Neville was all out of gas, Mcintyre rained down elbow after elbow opening up Neville and forcing the ref to stop the action.

Justin Allen deserves to be credited as he showed true professionalism in his bout against Kevin Mcintosh.  Allen punished Mcintosh with multiple kicks that would frustrate Mcintosh.  Mcintosh would rush in and clinch, but Allen delivered a massive knee that crumbled Mcintosh.  Allen threw one punch and backed off as he knew the fight was over.

The first professional heavyweight bout was up next and in good fashion it ended quickly.  Marvin Lemock needed only forty-two seconds to defeated James Powell.  After a leg kick by Lemock, Powell bulrushes Lemock into the cage.  From within the clinch, Lemock landed a big knee and then grabbed a standing guillotine choke.  Lemock didn't have the strength to pick Powell up, but he spun him around two times before the ref saw Powell was tapping.

The other heavyweight fight was the other end of the spectrum when it came to heavyweight matches.  James Shaw took on Jerry Burns in a very lackluster fight.  The first round saw Shaw consistently kick out Burns's knee, with Burns complaining about the kicks as if they were low blows.  In the second both fighters would exchange punches, but neither able to do anything major.  In the the third round Shaw smelled blood and unleashed a flurry of punches followed by a knee and more punches.  Burns shook it off and said bring it, and Shaw did the same thing, this time being able to drop Burns and ending the fight.

Bringing some excitement back to the fans Garett Whiteley took on Miles Shrake in a welterweight bout.  Shrake came out kicking and attempted a takedown, but the attempt failed as Whiteley was able to get full mount.  From there it was a matter of time as Whiteley worked several strikes forcing Shrake to give up his back.  It took Whiteley three tries to finally get his arm under Shrake's chin, but the third time was the charm as Shrake tapped out from the choke.

The super heavyweight's were slotted in the co-main event.  Terry Mellotte weighed in at a slim 425 pounds while his opponent Jimmy Jenkins weighed in at 283.  The announcer comments that this fight is brought to us by Jenny Craig Weight Loss.  Both fighters come out swinging and Mellotte uses his weight to push Jenkins up against the cage.  Fighters are throwing Jenkins is able to break free and lands a big shot that rocks Mellotte.  But Mellotte recovers and again pushes forward landing a knee and several punches before pressing Jenkins up against the cage.  Jenkins again is able to get out, this time landing a shot and Mellotte turns his back.  Jenkins pounces and starts throwing hook after hook to the back-turned Mellotte forcing the referee to stop the action.

The main event featured Dustin Neace taking on Joao Herdy.  The first round saw Herdy come out quick and aggressive and pushed Neace up against the cage.  But Neace would easily circle out and push Herdy up against the cage.  Both fighters worked several knees and body punches while clinched with Neace throwing more than Herdy.  Neace attempted a takedown and failed giving Herdy his back.  The jiujitsu black belt quickly attempted a rear naked choke but couldn't secure it.  Neace rolled to give up mount and then was able to push through and end up in Herdy's guard.  Herdy would work some elbows from the button, but Neace would land several shots.  At the end of the round Herdy threw a flashy upkick to the crowd's delight, but the kick didn't phase Neace as he just rained down more punches.  The first round was a very close round but MMA Recap scored the round for Neace due to damage.

The second round was a very clear round for Herdy.  Neace quickly attempted a takedown, but Herdy grabbed a guillotine and pulled guard.  Neace fought his way out of the submission, but Herdy would roll and end up in Neace's guard.  Herdy landed several shots before standing up to drop a big punch.  Neace stayed on his back and Herdy landed several kicks to Neace's left leg before dropping in with the shot.  Neace attempted an upkick, but couldn't find his range.  As the bell rang, MMA Recap now scored it 19-19.

The final round started and Neace looked the fresher of the two fighters and it showed with his strikes.  Neace would land combo after combo using great body and head movement to confuse Herdy.  Herdy threw a high kick that landed flush on Neace's face, but Neace just shrugged it off and took Herdy to the ground.  Neace worked several strikes on the ground to finish out the round.  MMA Recap scored the round and the fight for Neace 29-28.  The judges however were all in agreement and scored the fight for Herdy 29-28.  The crowd erupted half in cheers and half in boos for the decision that was read.
