Indiana Cage Fighting Dec 12th 2009 Coverage

01/18/2010 11:34

Indiana Cage Fighting's year end event came to Madison, Indiana last night December 12, 2009, and FightingFury was there covering the action! It was a packed house and the best event of 2009, just as we suspected it would be. There were eight title bouts, along with about 20 non-title bouts. Everyone left The Madison National Gaurd happy, and excited about the ever growing sport of M.M.A.

There were so many great fights that it was quite difficult to decide who would take home the FightingFury Awards. We are very proud to announce our winners here.

FightingFury Fight of The Night- Clayton Martin

Our Fight of The Night was an all out war, we appologize that we did not get the other fighter's name recorded. He also will recieve a Certificate. If you know his name please contact us. This was a great fight and had the fans on the edges of their seats. Clayton Martin won in the very last round via TKO, which was the only way for him to win due to being penalized 2 points for grabbing the cage. This fight was an all out slugfest all the way to the end.

FightingFury Submission of The Night-Deven Potts via Guiletine Choke

This was a very hard desision to make, this award was a toss up between Potts and Mike "Booger" Shield's Kamura. We had to make a desision and seeing as Potts put his opponent to sleep in a submission developed by WEC's Bantom Weight Champ Migeul Torrez in just seconds of the first round we had a vote here at the office and Potts takes home the prize.

Junior Submission of The Night- Clay "The Claw" Mundy

Clay Mundy earned the Junior submission of the night by showing some remarkable skills you very rarley find in Junior Competition. Mundy came out strong and pulled his opponent into his gaurd to set up a beautiful triangle that would have ended the bout had the ref not found it necessary to stand the two fighters up due to an eye gouge by Mundy's opponent. Mundy quickly gained the upper hand with a nice slam and transitioned into mount, where he set up another great triangle from mount to win the fight.

FightingFury KO of The Night- Johnte "Da Juiceman" Potts

This fight was an all out battle and ended in the third round with a devistating slam by Johnte "DA JUICEMAN" Potts.

FightingFury Honorable Mention of The Night- Cole Harvey

Our honorable mention award will go to Cole Harvey for giving up 70 pounds and putting his title on the line against a much bigger opponent. Harvey showed great skill and technique in this juniors division title bout, but his opponent Johnathon Cave came out the winner.

Great Job Cole Harvey!

Attention if you are on this list and would like your certificate please contact us by January 1st 2010. We will either mail you your certificate or deliver it to an event!
