Brandan Lawson

   Brandan "The Cyclone Kid" Lawson has come a long way in the sport of MMA, you could say that MMA saved Lawson from a life of trouble. Lawson says that MMA has given him a outlet for his love of fighting, and had he not found the sport he would most likely found trouble. Lawson is a fighter at heart and loves to compete. 

    Lawson first started in the martial arts at the age of four with his father Charlie Lawson. They studied Karate together, and Brandon earned a Yellow belt. Lawson then began wrestling in elementary school and stuck with that through high school. 

    Lawson began training for MMA with a small gym in his hometown and competed in his first fight at the age of 16, loosing a decision. Lawson didn't give up but was in for a bumpy ride. He ended up loosing his next two fights also. Lawson and his father Charlie both decided that Brandan wasn't getting quality training to compete in Mixed Martial Arts so they switched to his current gym. 

    Since Lawson has been with Garra BJJ in Kokomo, Indiana he has not lost a fight. He is actually on a four fight winning streak. In his last bout he brought home not only a win, but also the knock out of the night award given by Fleyes Fight Gear! 

Lawson is sure to do big things in this sport that he is very passionate about. He says that he couldn't have done it with out Garra BJJ, His Father, Friends, and Family that support him. Lawson has a goal to fight on the amateur level for another year and then turn Professional. He also dreams of winning The Ultimate Fighter.
